Rosé Wine Review – Monte dos Amigos
With long summer nights spent barbecuing on the balcony and eating outside, we have begun to try a selection of rosé wines that we haven’t tasted before. This week we chose Monte dos Amigos, which is a blend of aragonez, touriga nacional and syrah.
This wine was very much to my liking and reminiscent of one of our all-time favourite rosés – Monsaraz rosé, which appears only in the summer months and which this year we sadly haven’t seen at all. Full of flavour, Monte dos Amigos is a great example of an Alentejo wine and went perfectly with our barbecue of lobster and presa pork steaks.
Although my husband said this wine was a little too sweet for him, we had no hesitation in polishing off the bottle. Versatile and delicious, this is definitely a wine that we will be drinking again this summer.
